It does make sense that &amp;quot;experience is what you get when you don&amp;#39;t get what you want.&amp;quot;  What probably ensures you (and I) get lots of experience is the reality that we probably don&amp;#39;t know what we really want, and we think we want things that we don&amp;#39;t really want/enjoy/need in the end.
